Biography
Throughout my life I have ventured into different manifestations:
artistic painting, photography, sculpture, among others. I have participated in various courses and workshops, such as: Photography, taught by Mario López; Wood carving, taught by Max Galindo; Encaustic and painting by Marlene Kaltschmitt; Painting Workshop, taught by Anaí Martínez Montt; Batik, taught by Amparo Toledo; Stone sculpture with Beverly Rowley MacDonald; Sculpture workshop taught by Doniel Espinoza.
Sculpture has awakened in me a passion that integrally builds my being. I received my first classes of sculpture at the Municipal School of Art. There I had the opportunity to learn from great Guatemalan teachers and to work with materials such as clay, wood, marble resin, polyester resin and crystal resin. It was then that I realized that through sculpture I felt the greatest strength and expressive depth.
Since I finished the courses of sculpture at the Municipal School of Art up to now, I have dedicated myself to sculpture, especially in marble resin, polyester resin and crystal resin. Also, I have incorporated different materials to my artworks, creating pieces that I built in mixed media and interconceptual themes. With sculpture I can dream, experiment, create, express, incorporate different objects and materials and give life to my artwork. My artwork is mainly figurative, I am inspired by the woman's body and its characteristics. I also work abstract pieces, which I consider an extension of my personality. Every detail of my work has a special meaning that I want to convey to the viewer.
